LouAnne E. Case, M.S.N., C.N.M. has over 20 years of professional nursing experience in obstetrics. She holds a certificate of Nurse-Midwifery from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky, a Master of Science in Nursing and Womens Health from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, New York.
During the past 17 years, LouAnne has worked as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in private practice with OB/GYN physicians on staff at William Beaumont Hospital. LouAnne also worked as a nurse-midwife in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia.
As a nurse-midwife, LouAnne is qualified to provide well-woman gynecological care and prenatal care, including deliveries.
Her professional memberships include the American College of Nurse Midwives and the Association of Womens Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses.
Kathleen B. Figurski, M.S.N., C.N.M. is a certified nurse midwife specializing in providing personalized health care to women.
As a nurse midwife, Kathy provides health care to women of all ages, with a emphasis on health promotion and education. She is qualified to provide well woman exams, pap smears, breast exams, contraceptive options, menopause counseling and care during normal pregnancy and childbirth.
She received her midwife certificate from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky. Additionally, she holds a Masters Degree in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and Bachelors Degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Buffie started her nursing career in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic. She then went on to earn her ADN from San Antonio College in San Antonio, Texas; BSN from Regis University in Denver, Colorado; and her MSN-CNM from Wayne State University. She has traveled extensively, following her husband’s military career and was blessed to work in many different areas of nursing such as, pediatrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, and outpatient women’s health. Buffie was a certified childbirth educator and instructed classes in Kansas, West Virginia, and South Korea. She is also a certified physical fitness instructor-trainer for the U.S. Army Pregnancy Physical Training Program.
Her professional passions include pregnancy and childbirth education, family planning, and menopausal issues. Her personal passions include her husband, sons, and grandson. Together they enjoy boating, water skiing, yard work, and playing with the family dog.
Tina is an Indiana native who moved to Michigan to pursue her career after graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2000. In 2007, she graduated from the University of Michigan Nurse Midwifery program and also obtained a Post Master’s certificate as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Tina provides compassionate and evidence based care to women throughout the lifespan. Her professional areas of interest include bedside labor support, breastfeeding advocacy and assistance, contraceptive counseling, and patient education/advocacy.
Tina enjoys spending her free time with her two awesome boys, family and friends. Tina loves spending time outdoors with her sons playing ball, going for walks and fishing. She is also an avid reader and loves to travel.
Heather Anderson, DNP, APRN, CNM has been part of our Oakland Macomb OBGYN family for some time. After attending Washburn University in Kansas and St. Clair Community College in Port Huron, MI, she finished her degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2015, completing her midwife training here at Troy Beaumont, with us. She then graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2017, with a special emphasis on postpartum depression and anxiety. Heather runs our postpartum support program! Previously, as a nurse, she practiced in emergency medicine, Labor & Delivery, and OB/GYN. She loves supporting women through the natural physiologic process of birth and helping them make informed decisions, enabling them safe, healthy birth experiences. In her spare time she loves spending time with her husband and 5 children, who are all involved in sports.
Laura Hazely, M.S.N, C.N.M, joins us from Illinois, where she has practiced since graduating in 2014 from the midwifery program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has an undergraduate degree in Biopsychology. She is originally from the Port Huron area and is thrilled to be back closer to home and closer to her family. She has always had a passion for Women’s Health, especially Obstetrics. Her favorite part of being a midwife is providing her patients education and support. She and her husband love trying new restaurants and are excited to explore all that this area has to offer. She also enjoys crocheting and reading
Jamie Sternberg, M.S.N, C.N.M has been a midwife since 2014, graduating with a dual Nurse Practitioner and Midwifery degree from Georgetown University. She has a collection of college degrees. In addition to her Master’s of Science from Georgetown, she also has a BSN from Michigan State University, two associate degrees from Macomb in Nursing and Arts, a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Wayne State University, and an MBA in Industrial Management from Baker College. She has most recently been practicing in Detroit. She has always loved Women’s Health and is passionate about providing excellent care. She grew up in Michigan and is the oldest of 6 kids. She now shares her home with her diplomas, 3 dogs, 4 cats, tropical fish, and her husband, who is a retired school teacher and now a horror/sci-fi writer. Jamie’s hobbies include knitting, mountain biking, photography, gardening, fishing, and gaming
Dana Velzy, M.S.N, C.N.M joined us in 2016, when she finished her Masters of Science from Frontier Nursing University. Prior to that, she worked in the Labor and Delivery department at Royal Oak Beaumont for many years, and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Saginaw Valley State University. She has a certification in holistic nursing and her emphasis is on natural labor and child birth. She plans to complete her doctorate of nursing, focusing on quality improvement. She has a special interest in mental health and plans to focus on depression and postpartum depression. She played softball in college and continues to play for fun now. She enjoys traveling and has been all over the world including The Virgin Islands, Australia, Europe and all over North America. She and her Whoodle (Wheaten Terrier/Poodle), ‘Sully’ also enjoy time with family and friends.

She knew early on in her education that midwifery was for her. She is currently working on her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at U of M, with a focus on group prenatal care, and plans to graduate in 2020. She loves taking care of women throughout their pregnancies and through the postpartum phase, and enjoys being part of creating new families. She has a special interest in family planning, and in ‘spinning babies,’ which focuses on aligning mom and baby for optimal delivery. For fun, she enjoys quilting, traveling, and spend time with her family, and her dog, a Boxer named ‘Sebastian.’ Jessica also loves to cook. She is best known for her Red Velvet cupcakes!
