Marybeth Hodapp, CNM, received her Master of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, her Certificate of Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Michigan University. She practiced as a clinical nurse midwife for the first 10 years of her career, and then worked in the perinatology research division of the National Institutes of Health before joining Oakland Macomb. She has been with our practice for 10 years and leads the triage department. She loves what she does, especially the opportunity to offer health education and promotion to our patients. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, reading and golfing.
Kathleen Hoffman, PA-C , is physician assistant specializing in women’s health. Kathy received her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Detroit Mercy and her Bachelor’s of Science from Boston College.
Kathy provides gynecological care to women of all ages. This includes pap smears, breast exams, contraceptive counseling, evaluation of menstrual irregularities, adolescent health education and management of menopausal symptoms. She also provides prenatal and postpartum care.
In addition, she has been trained to counsel women on their risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer due to the BRCA gene mutation.
Outside of work, Kathy enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three children.
Threasa Walser RNC, MSN, WHNP-BC has over 19 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Her Bachelor of Science in Nursing was obtained from Saginaw Valley State University. She is board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the National Certification Corporation.
As a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Threasa enjoys caring for women throughout their lifespan. She is trained in IUD insertion and removal and Nexplanon insertion. She has successfully completed the Mentorship Program with the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP). She has special interest in adolescent healthcare and infertility.
Threasa is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and NPWH (Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health). When away from the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, fraternal twins, family and friends.
Diana Cook, MA, attended Carnegie Institute in 2001 where she received her certification as a Medical Assistant and she has been working at Oakland Macomb ever since. She has been with the Triage department since 2008. Outside of the clinic, she has two beautiful girls who happily take up most of her free time, but she also enjoys shopping, spending time with her husband and friends and traveling. She has a goal of someday visiting every state in the country.
Pauline Rzepecki, RN, BSN, MSN, obtained her Bachelor’s in Science of Nursing degree from Mercy College in Detroit and Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is a former HypnoBirthing practitioner and HypnoTherapist and has been with Oakland Macomb since 2014. She is very supportive of the natural-holistic approach to pregnancy, birth and beyond. She is married, has 2 children and enjoys being with her family, quilting, cross stitching and scrap-booking.
Christy Klieman, RNC-OB, MSN, WHNP-BC received her M.S.N. from University of Cincinnati, her B.S.N. from University of Michigan-Flint, and her A.D.N. from St. Clair County Community College. She is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, with an in-patient obstetrics certification. She was a practicing Labor and Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum Nurse and Childbirth Educator for seven years, and a clinical nurse manager for three years, before becoming a WHNP. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) and Association of Reproductive Health Professionals. Outside of practice, she enjoys spending time with husband and two kids, trips to the beach, yoga, and watching U of M football and the Tigers (when they’re winning)!
Nicole Sovey, D.N.P, W.H.N.P.B.C., joins us from an OBGYN practice in the DMC system, where she has been in practice since completing her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2014 with a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She became board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and then earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree in 2016. Nicole received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. She grew up in the Brighton area. She has a special interest in adolescent gynecology, in the early formation of effective patient-provider relationships, contraception counseling and reducing teen pregnancy and STI rates. She also focuses on the most cutting edge care for postmenopausal patient and patients suffering from chronic pelvic pain and recurrent pelvic infections. She is skilled in multiple procedures, including administering Nexplanon and intrauterine devices (IUD’s). She loves spending time with her husband and daughter, preferably on the water, and enjoys running and staying fit.
Laurie Tousignant, RN, BSN, has been a nurse for over 25 years. She graduated from University of Windsor in Ontario and spent much of her career in med/surg and the antepartum unit of Beaumont Royal Oak, also functioning in a Case Management role. She truly loves working in Women’s Health. She joined Oakland Macomb in 2016.
Becky Bradford has been a Medical Assistant with Oakland Macomb OBGYN for 10 years. She received her certification in 2003 from Ross Medical Education Center and is currently completing her second degree at Macomb Community College, in Radiologic Technology. In addition to being one of the pillars of our practice, she also enjoys shopping, running, entertaining friends and vacationing with her 2 daughters and husband.
Sarah Zimmerman, PA-C, received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Detroit Mercy in and her Bachelor of Social Work from Western Michigan University. She was a Medical Social Work Case Manager prior to becoming a P.A. She has practiced as a surgical PA since 2008, specializing in minimally invasive techniques, primarily in GYN and Urology. She is thrilled to be the Beaumont Hospital Troy-based P.A for Oakland Macomb, assisting in surgery and in management of patients during their stay in the hospital, as well as writing for the blog and managing social media for the group. Outside of practice, she enjoys her family, pretends to enjoy running, and actually enjoys watching movies, especially silly ones.
