- LABOR AND BIRTH SKILLS CLASS
Join us for a 3 week session, 2.5 hours per session to discuss, review, practice and learn about Labor and Birth. With the use of power point and video clips, as well as creative use of props, you'll learn about what to expect in your third trimester leading into going into labor and giving birth. We'll review the warning signs, stages of labor and birth, medical interventions, cesarean birth and brief overview of post-partum recovery in the hospital for mom and baby.
You'll have hands on practice with comfort measures including use of a birth ball, peanut ball, positions and movements, breathing techniques, massage and relaxation techniques to help with your comfort during labor. What positions can I use in labor in and out of bed?? We'll cover those in class! Come and experience relaxation sessions that can be used now and during your labor including visualization and breathing.

Requirement: Must be at least 28 weeks gestational age.

- POSTPARTUM EXPECTATIONS CLASS
Join us for a 3 hour session that covers your questions and concerns about Postpartum recovery in the first 6 weeks after giving birth. With the use of video and discussion, as well as hands on practice with baby dolls and creative use of props, you will learn about the physical and emotional recovery for mom, what to expect with your newborn from hospital to home including holding, swaddling, and diapering, and feeding overview for your newborn with a basic discussion of breastfeeding.
We'll review warning signs for both mom and baby during their recovery after birth, and discuss formulating a plan for postpartum, before you give birth. Discussion will include postpartum baby blues and PMAD (perinatal mood and anxiety disorder), and warning signs to be aware of. This class will be beneficial to both the birthing person and their support team.
Join us for a fun night of discussion and hands-on practice to assist you in feeling more confident in the post-partum period.

- BREASTFEEDING BASICS CLASS
Join us for a 3 hour basics class on understanding how to get started breastfeeding. We'll cover an overview of how breastfeeding works, including the benefits to both mom and baby. Through use of video and props you'll gain an understanding of how to hold baby for feedings (hands on use with baby dolls), what a proper latch looks and feels like, what your options are with breastfeeding (baby at the breast, use of feeding aids, and pumping), and basic trouble shooting. Review of how to know when to feed baby and if baby is getting enough, as well as warning signs for both mom and baby. You'll learn about breast care and breastmilk storage, with the creative use of props and demonstrations.
